Randolph County Jail Roster

The Randolph County Detention Center inmate registry is a public resource that allows anyone to check if a specific person is being held in the county jail of North Carolina. RandolphCourt.us helps find publicly available information about current and recently arrested inmates. Additionally, information can be obtained through the official sheriff's office website, by visiting the facility in person, or by calling. The registry is maintained by the Randolph County Sheriff's Office; it is published online and updated throughout the day, reflecting individuals currently in custody.

Search Current Inmates in Randolph Jail

The Randolph County Sheriff provides two online inmate lists: by arrest date and by last name. Both show all individuals held at the Randolph County Detention Center at the time of report generation.

Step-by-step Online Search

  1. Open the inmate list page by last name or by date.
  2. The page will load the full list. Click on the row with the last name to expand details: charges, date and time of arrest, and the agency that made the arrest.
  3. If you are searching for a specific person, use the browser's search function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) and enter the last name or first name.

You will need the person's full legal name for the search. A booking number speeds up identification but is not required. Minors are not displayed in the public registry.

Additionally, you can check court records through RandolphCourt.us.

Phone and In-Person Visit

Call the Detention Center to verify the detention status. You can also visit in person — there is an information window in the facility's lobby.

If the person was detained by the Asheboro city police, initial information may be available from the Asheboro Police Department, although detention is carried out at the county Detention Center.

Find Randolph Jail Booking Records Online

A booking record is created when a person is officially admitted to the facility. This is not the same as an arrest: booking is an administrative procedure during which personal data is recorded, photographs are taken, fingerprints are collected, and charges are registered.

Each record contains:

  • booking number
  • date and time of arrest
  • type of arrest (e.g., TAKE W/WARRANT)
  • list of charges with case numbers
  • agency that made the arrest — Randolph Sheriff's Office, NC Probation and Parole, or others

This data is directly available on the inmate registry page: click on the row with the last name, and the system will show detailed information. If the person has been released, the record disappears from the online list.

To obtain archival records or copies of documents, submit a public records request. Criminal and civil cases can also be searched through the North Carolina Judicial Branch court records portal. If the person has been transferred to a state facility, use the NC Department of Adult Correction offender search.

Search the Randolph Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number

The official Randolph County registry offers two main viewing methods: by last name and by arrest date. There is no special field for entering a booking number on the site, but you can use the browser search.

Search by Last Name

Go to the last name list page. The list is sorted alphabetically. Click on the desired row — details will expand.

A few tips:

  • Ensure the last name is spelled correctly. Hyphens, apostrophes, and double last names can affect sorting order.
  • If the last name is common, verify the first name and arrest date.
  • Try Ctrl+F and enter only the first few letters of the last name — this helps with misspellings.

Search by Booking Number

Open any of the lists and use Ctrl+F to enter the number. The booking number usually appears in the record details after clicking on the row.

If No Results

Absence in the registry may mean the person has been released, transferred to another facility, or not yet processed. Call the Detention Center at (336) 318-6699 to clarify. For state facility searches, use the NC Offender Search.

Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Randolph

The registry is automatically generated several times a day. The page indicates the exact time the report was created — for example, "Report produced on 04/09/26 at 03:00:14". There may be a delay of several minutes to several hours between the actual booking and the record appearing in the online list.

Main limitations to consider:

  • The registry shows only those in custody at the time of report generation. After release, the record is deleted.
  • This is not an archive. Historical booking data is not available through this page.
  • Data entry delays occur — especially at night or on weekends, when processing may take longer.
  • Minors and individuals with court-imposed disclosure restrictions are not displayed.

The total number of inmates is indicated at the top of the page. For example, at the beginning of April 2026, the Detention Center held between 332 and 340 individuals.

If you need records of past bookings or official document copies, contact the Sheriff's Office with a public records request in accordance with the North Carolina Public Records Law. Court case materials can be obtained by visiting the Randolph County Courthouse clerk's office at 176 E. Salisbury Street, Asheboro.
